Young Joo “Young” Chung

Young Joo “Young” Chung is a human rights attorney, advocate, and founder of Save Young, a survivor-led organization dedicated to protecting adoptees, exposing child trafficking and exploitation, and holding accountable the systems that failed them.

Young's advocacy is deeply personal. At age two, Young and her sister were trafficked from an orphanage in South Korea through an adoption agency in the United States. Rather than allowing that injustice to define her, Young transformed her experience into a lifelong mission to protect vulnerable children, amplify survivor voices, and reform systems that have too often failed those they were meant to protect.

For more than 17 years, Young has dedicated her career to public service as an Administrative Judge and federal government attorney across four federal agencies. Today, she is pursuing a Master of Public Administration at Harvard Kennedy School, building on her work at the intersection of human rights, child protection, and systemic reform.

Young's vision is a world where no child is separated from their identity through deception, no survivor is silenced, and every adoptee has access to the truth about their origins. Through advocacy, research, policy reform, and community support, Save Young is working to create lasting change for future generations.

Join Young in turning pain into purpose. Stand with adoptees and survivors, help us amplify the truth, and help build a more just, transparent, and accountable adoption system. Together, we can protect vulnerable children, restore identity, and create a future where every adoptee is safe, seen, and empowered to reclaim their story with dignity, hope, and justice.
